The study,published in the journal DiabetesCare, showed that people withtype 2 diabetes mellitus who took cinnamon capsules lowered their blood sugarby an average of 18% to 29%, reduced triglycerides by 23% to 30%, reduced LDLcholesterol by 7% to 27%, and reduced total cholesterol by 1% to 26% with nochange among the control groups. The study ran for forty days, but thehealthful effects persisted even through the twenty day washout period fromwhen the subjects stopped taking the cinnamon capsules and the last blood workof the study was performed.
